Naas Credit Union is proud to be one of the first sponsors to get behind Naas Town’s inaugural 10k race. The credit union has put €1,000 towards the costs of the event, primarily contributing the getting the race approved by the Athletics Association of Ireland and to obtain support from Naas Athletics Club.
The race will be held on the 28th of September and is being organised by Brendan’s Running Club in aid of the Jack and Jill Foundation. The route starts at the Town Hall and will weave through and around the historic town providing a challenging and rewarding run to all participants. The event is receiving enthusiastic support locally. Brendan Loughlin, the founder of the popular running club says ‘this is a new and significant event for Naas town and all the effort we put in is on a voluntary basis in that case local sponsorship is crucially important. We are certain that the people and businesses of Naas will take The Naas Town 10 km, a first for the town, into their hearts and make this run an annual event.’
At the recent North Kildare Chamber Expo we gave away entry onto the couch to 10k fitness program to prepare for the win. Brendan popped down on the night to help us promote the competition.
Member Mary Finn was delighted with winning the prize, she passed it onto her daughter Emily, who is busy now training for the event!
