A couple of volunteers from Life CU had the pleasure of spending a few hours at the KWWSPCA animal shelter in Athgarvan, as part of our Life CU #GivingTuesday campaign. It was an honour to meet the lovely people who volunteer their time so willingly.
The KWWSPCA was founded in 1940 to help prevent and deal with cases of animal cruelty. It is run by volunteers who are devoted to the rescue, care and re-homing of animals throughout Kildare and West Wicklow. KWWSPCA has no paid employees and is solely run by volunteers.
Animal shelters are overflowing with dogs that are in need of good homes. We’ve found out some great news, 5 of the dogs in this animal shelter are going to Sweden to their forever homes with their passports at the ready. This will make room for the influx of other dogs that will need us after Christmas. Yes, unfortunately people still buy puppies as gifts and then they end up in shelters when they cannot commit to looking after them.
KWWSPCA have a number of dogs available for adoption in their animal shelter and in foster homes. The dogs are neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. See details of all dogs available for adoption on their Adopt a Dog page at http://kwwspca.ie/adopt-a-dog/
