Opening a children’s saving account is one of most important things a parent can do – and opening a children’s saving account with the credit union will help to teach them important planning, budgeting and money management skills – giving them vital building blocks needed throughout their lives. If their dream is to have a new mobile phone, a bike, or a special trip – if they save up their money, they might just get their wish!

Opening a Child's Account
A Child’s Account must be opened in branch, so please call into one of our 4 branches if you wish to open a child account. Children over the age of 7, must be present when the account is being opened.
- Child’s Photo ID: (valid passport)
- Child's Original Birth Certificate or Proof of Guardianship
- Child’s Proof of PPS Number: (letter from official source, medical card, E111 card, etc.)
- Tax Resident in Another Country: provide Tax Identification Number (TIN) and Country of Tax Residence
- Parents/Guardians Photo ID: (valid passport or driver’s license)
- Parents/Guardians Proof of Address: (bank statement or utility bill in your name - issued within the last 6 months)
Savings Limits Minor Accounts
- Maximum Savings of €50,000 per account
- Maximum Savings per member of €100,000 across all accounts
- Maximum monthly lodgement per juvenile member of €3,000
