We are excited to announce an important milestone in our Credit Union’s history; Naas Credit Union is changing its name!

For 49 years we have been focused on serving our community of members with great service and personal attention. That’s not about to change! However, to celebrate 50 years next year, there’s one change we want to make – our name!

 

We are (and always will be) Naas’ Credit Union and it is important that we bring our history and reputation with us. However, we have undergone some major changes over the past few years, and have grown from being one credit union branch in Naas to four branches in Naas, Monread, Maynooth and Newbridge. So we want a name that everyone can feel a part of, and that reflects who we are today – a modern, progressive, community credit union.

 

 

Whilst our name is changing, our focus and commitment to serving you, the members of our community, with great personal service will remain the same.

 

You are the reason for our success and so we are asking you, our members, to be a part of this exciting process. From the 24th April we would like you to provide us with your suggestions for the new name of your credit union. We believe a name that is simple and memorable, and which also reflects our values will attract new members and add financial strength and additional member benefits for all. You can enter in any of our branches or through Facebook. Everyone who suggests a name will be entered into a draw to win 1 of 3 €200 cash prizes!

Why are you changing your name?

We want a name that all of our members can identify with, and that positions us strongly for the future. We believe a new name is an investment in our future together, and a foundation of growth for years to come.

 

It can also be difficult to use our current name in some of our branches e.g. “Welcome to Naas Credit Union” in Newbridge or Maynooth. We want an inclusive name that celebrates the growth and strength of our credit union.

 

Why are you telling members now?

As valued members, we believe you deserve to know what is happening with your credit union. In addition, we want you to be part of the process and suggest names for your new credit union. To suggest a name, either enter in any of our branches or check out our Facebook page. You could even win 1 of 3 €200 cash prizes!

 

But I like our current name?

We completely understand, so do we! However, we feel that as we move into our 50th year we need to change our name to prepare us for the future of our credit union.

 

What will a new name mean?

Just that, a new name! Besides a new name and logo, everything else will stay the same. We will still be the same team, offering the same great service that we always have!

 

Does this mean you are looking to expand again?

No, we simply want a name that reflects our CU today – a modern, progressive, community CU, and that all our members feel a part of.

 

What happens to my account as a result of a name change?

Your account and information will stay exactly the same. There is nothing you will need to do as a result of a name change. The changes you will see will be in our signage, printed materials and website.

 

What does the Credit Union expect to gain from a name change?

Our only gain will be to ensure that all our members feel that they are part of our future and that a new name will enable us to grow and promote the credit union as strongly as possible.

 

We’re proud of what we have achieved in our first 49 years, and want to reflect that heritage in the next 50 years.
